Retro Conversion Kit

The '52 Conversion

Retro-restyling was an idea that was inspired by observing the cars that the Big Three Carmakers(Ford, General Motors & Chrysler) were bringing to market like the Chevrolet SSR, Chrysler PT Cruiser and the Ford Thunderbird. All three of these cars bring classic styling and nostalgia styling. This is where the term Newstalgia comes from. The blending of past(Nostalgia) and present(New).

Question: Would it be possible to create an affordable retro conversion for a vehicle that was merely a daily driver? The next question, would it be possible for the average car guy to install the conversion without requiring the help of a professional?

Newstalgia Wheel was quickly formed and set out to develop the first retro conversion. After researching the most re-styled vehicles today, the '88-'98 Chevy/GMC truck platform was chosen. The '47-'53 Chevy Trucks seen frequently at street rod and antique auto shows was then picked as the first retro-restyle model.

After two proto-types and twelve months later, The Fifty Two Conversion debuted on TNN's Trucks TV March of 2002. The '52 perfectly blends together the classic styling of the past with today's more sleek and aerodynamic body lines of today.

Just how easy is it to install The '52? The fiberglass hood bolts on to your stock hood hinges and utilizes the factory hood latch. Also, the '52 Conversion does not require you to cut or modify or remove your stock factory GM fenders. The installation can be bolted on less than 3-4 hours and you're hours and you are off to the body shop.

The Fifty-Two Conversion kit consists of a black gel coat finish hand laid fiberglass hood and one-piece fiberglass nose. The nose assembly comes complete with 12 volt sealed beam headlights already frenched in. Also included with the '52 Conversion Kit is our steel frame rail connector, heavier than stock bumper, also serves as brace for the fiberglass nose.

How would you express Newstalgia styling with your '52 conversion?

Our '52 Conversion is a concept of retro-restyling an existing truck. The idea of retro-restyling was inspired by the cars that the Big Three Automakers Ford, Chevrolet, & Chrysler were bringing to market. All three of these cars bring classic styling and nostalgia styling to modern cars. This is where the term Newstalgia comes from. The blending of past(Nostalgia) and present(New). Our retro fiberglass conversion has been seen in Custom Classic Trucks, Classic Trucks, Chevy Rumble, Cruisin', Truckin' Magazine.
